the broad
I drink too much coffee and I don’t smoke. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping and I’m finally sure why. I’m loyal to a fault but will let you go if you violate my trust. I love my computer like a fourth child. I have children and they can be pretty cool but sometimes they stress me. I hate sports on TV. Smoking is vile; don’t do it around me. I love pie but I only just recently bought a pie serving thingamajig. Never underestimate the motivational powers of a midlife crisis. I eat too much and exercise too little. My thyroid made me do it. I don’t keep up with pedicures and I don’t own Crocs. I do own Birks and I hate shoes that I have to take the time to tie. I should wear makeup but I don’t. I don’t whistle while I work. In fact, when others whistle, it usually irritates me beyond belief. I have a phobia with poop. I hate curry. I love Diet Coke. I don’t like wine or most alcohol because I don’t like the taste. I love Coronation Street. Inside lives a bohemian artist that will one day burst out. Until then I’ll continue to drive my kids to soccer and gymnastics.

In other words, I’m a 37 year-old mother of three, including a child with Autism, and husband to one. I was a photographer in a previous life and my goal is to go back into business again once some very pressing and stressful things in my life are sorted out. My specialty will be photographing children and adults with special needs and serious illness.
After being assumed into the special needs community, I saw a great need for more photographers who are qualified to offer that sort of service to an under-served (or not served at all) segment of the population. I am also working on a (very slow-moving) book project dealing with mothers and their children with Autism and also planning to develop an awareness program for my son’s school district. Oh, and I also design t-shirts and other such items to spread Autism awareness.
In addition to my son I have two daughters who are also lights of my life. They love gymnastics, playing dress-up and making me shake my head with some of the things they come up with.
I have a husband to whom I’ve been married 14 years who has been with me through thick and thin. I owe a lot to him although I’ll never admit that to him so don’t say anything, okay?
He loves football but thankfully won’t ignore leaving the house in favor of a game. He works a demanding job that affords me to stay at home with our children and soon to continue to pursue my business again and for that I’m thankful.
Maybe soon I’ll start a photography-only blog but for now it’s a grand mixture of everyday life, links, things I find interesting and my photographic journey. Oh, and I like to take pictures with my BlackBerry and moblog a bit.
