Annie got a gun
The lens I rented arrived in the mail on Saturday. That bitch is heavy! I’ve been shooting around town and testing it to see what it can do. I’ll tell you this much — you walk around with that thing and people notice. You have to have strong arms and self confidence to wield that thing around in public. I’m also glad that I ordered another CF card. You can imagine how fast they fill up. It amazes me how the price of storage drops so quickly.
I started cleaning the basement the other day and oh my Lord, what a freaking mess. I’ll be glad to finish cleaning and then get to packing. Now that the weather has cooled I won’t be as hesitant to put things in the POD. I didn’t want to put some things in there when it was 90+ outside for fear of ruining them.
Asleep yet? I am incredibly uninspired.
They started waterproofing the basement at the other house so that’s on its way. Iain got a kick out of seeing the trenches they dug next to the basement wall. He loves stuff like that and I knew he’d be excited to see them at work. The guys doing the work seem nice and they’ve been working really hard.
And speaking of working really hard, my son certainly has! I’m so proud of him — he’s been getting such good grades on his spelling and math and has been working really hard and it’s really paying off. Now that he’s in second grade he’s coming home with actual grades and percentages and he’s bringing home grades that you see from the typical kids. I love that kid. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love him no matter what but I’m so proud of him I could burst.
