Favorite new word mashup
I’m a big fan of the word schadenfreude as well as the word douche (and its insulting variants — douchebag, internet douche etc.) so I was delighted to find this mashup of both words:
Schadendouche — A person who thinks they are getting away with something on the sly while the world laughs at them, anticipating their inevitable demise.
Thank you to BoingBoing and their article about a dumbass iMac thief that inspired the beautiful creation (even though my friend Marz thinks it’s not a good combo since she’s smart and knows languages and shit). The man in the article (shown below) turned in the computer to the police in Victoria, Canada and claimed that he bought the computer from a friend who had bought it from someone else. While I do not know if he indeed stole the computer or had knowledge that it was stolen, he is at the very least guilty of being a huge dumbass for buying anything like this from a “friend”. Let’s be real. Schadendouche indeed.
