Peaceful Sunday
Things went remarkably well today and there was no drama to be had. Fine with me, I say. The change in stress level from yesterday was incredible.
I thought I was going to get more done than I did but it was still a productive day. I finished with Iain’s room so now the kids’ bedrooms are ready for occupants. Phew.
Jeff removed the asbestos tiles from the basement per the instructions of the abatement specialist so I’m glad that’s done with. I don’t think I got around to blogging about that whole fiasco so I’ll write about that tomorrow. Talk about freaking out!
Jeff and Iain finished cleaning out the totes we emptied from the basement and once they make their way back here, the packing will begin. My plan is to start from the ground up. I know this part will conjure up some emotions thinking about the memories we’ve shared here. I have to remind myself that we’ll make new memories and we’ll appreciate the increase in space. I also have to remind myself that the state of the economy in my state and in my area is nothing we can change; this is how it panned out and we just have to accept that. I can’t (even though lately I’ve been tempted) leave my mother out in the cold and that would happen fast if I stayed here.
Tomorrow I start on the mold. I had wanted to start today but things got a little delayed since Jeff had to take a break while he took Gracie to a birthday party nearby. I’m trying to figure out something to have Jeff do that I wouldn’t be able (or want) to do when he returns to work. He can cut the grass I think. Oh, and take the mattress and box spring out to the garage. Actually, there are a few heavy items that can go out for next week’s garbage pickup.
I guess I should wrap here since I’m falling asleep laying here. More tomorrow. Here’s to another drama-free day on Monday.
