Postsecret done or hijacked?
I’ve noticed since I started reading Postsecret that Frank usually has the secrets up some time Saturday night (auto post?) so I was curious when I checked my feeds last night and didn’t see it. It wasn’t yet Sunday so I didn’t put much thought to it until this morning. I visited a message board I frequently read and someone had posted a link to Postsecret and some words of concern because this is what they found:
So, is it over? There’s not even a single sentence to simply say it’s over nor new web address to point to a new home for the site. It seems a bit too odd to me. In its place is a generic Blogspot page whose author is listed simply as Nicole. “Her” account was created in September 2007 and this makes me wonder if Postsecret wasn’t hijacked. Obviously many are wondering who she is since her profile, as of the time I’m writing this, has almost 26, 000 page views.
Frank Warren spoke Friday night at Florida State University and made no mention of the site shutting down so as of now my theory is that the site was hijacked by some ass who thought it would be fun to cause a stir on the Internet and disturb what is for thousands a Sunday morning ritual as popular as the newspaper and hot cup of coffee.
