Postsecret - an update?
Update: The site is back up and running. Blogger is going to have a hard time living this one down.
Buzz on the Internet continues as everyone is wondering what happened to Postsecret today. Found on the YouTube page for Frank’s trailer video for PostSecret and PostSecret.com was the following comment:

Blogger shut down PostSecret because they mistakenly thought the PostSecret Blog was a “spam blog”
Please email them to republish the PostSecret Blog ASAP.

Being as I don’t know who this commenter is, the authenticity isn’t something I can verify but Postsecret’s Wikipedia page notes,
“On Sunday, September 16, 2007, the traditional PostSecret blog was gone. In its place was a new blogger site belonging to someone named “nicole”. It was suddenly and mistakenly shut down as Blogger (service) thought the PostSecret blog was a ’spam blog’. “
Again, given that anyone can modify Wikipedia, I can’t verify the truth of that statement but that seems to be the latest news on what happened to Postsecret. What gets me is the fact that it happened in the first place. How could Blogger never have heard of Postsecret, an insanely popular blog that has been running on their site since January 1, 2005, and shut them down mistaking them for a spam blog? That makes no sense to me. Perhaps that’s what happened but it still seems suspect to me given the timing of the removal. This suddenly happens on a Sunday morning? What a coincidence.
