Careless pipl

TMIRemember how I paid PeopleFinder.com $7.95 to give me my brother’s new address? Who knew I could have used pipl and found it for free? I stumbled upon mention of this search engine so I decided to give it a try. I entered my brother’s name for lack of a better search and wouldn’t you know it, there was a lot of stuff. Most of it was your plain Jane stuff on MySpace/Facebook/blog comments stuff but interestingly enough, I also came upon his entire name and new address. How, you ask? Well, my brother’s girlfriend decided to post it in its entirety in her LiveJournal comments.

If you learn nothing else about the Internet, people, remember that what you put out there stays out there even if you delete it. Search engines suck these things up like a sponge and some are designed to keep every bit of info forever. Be careful what you put out there before you do it. Afterward it may be too late.
