Long weekend

We had the party for the kids yesterday and today I planted the flowers I bought with my mom last Monday. I am tired. I still have that sore throat and a bit of a cough so I’m thinking I should make an appointment tomorrow. It’s gone on too long but I still feel like a big whiner since I’m not filling the room with arterial spray.

The party was a huge success. The kids had a blast and I think the adults had a good time, too. I took pictures but Lord knows when my lazy ass will get around to processing them. Cross your fingers that I get to it during the week. I have pictures I took at Gracie’s classroom party that I’d like to fiddle with and print copies for the parents.

I was so glad to see everyone. I don’t get to see my friends nearly as often as I’d like (which is more than the just about never I see them lately) so it was wonderful that everyone ended up coming. I have to say, the kids usually have a good time but this time seemed to be the best ever. Oh, funny story–one of the kids in Gracie’s violin class, who she pretty much stands next to every week, had his party at the gym after ours. His birthday is the same day as Gracie’s. Small world! I had Jeff buy him a card to wish him a happy day.

Planting the flowers was kind of a pain but I’m glad it’s done. Last year I didn’t have anything so this year it will be nice to have a splash of color again.

My neighbors had another open house while I was outside planting and they had one couple of older ladies come through and that’s it. Angie told me that they were looking for a ranch. I’m pretty certain that the MLS listed their bungalow as, well, a bungalow and you can tell just by driving past the house. Outside of the four visitors they had at their last open house two weeks ago and the two ladies today, they’ve had zero showings. None. At all. And they’ve lowered the price. Sigh. I’m not really holding out hope for us at this point. My friend Amanda and I were talking on the phone Friday and she had just sold her house the year to the day they put it on the market. A year! Oh, and in case you were thinking about going down the “if it was meant to be” route, don’t. Seriously. As you can imagine it’s not what I want to hear right about now. It’s just as well. I think my builder hates me anyway.
