Can someone answer this?
Why is it that on a beautiful 70 degree day, there are parents in front of the kids’ school sitting there with their cars idling? Especially puzzling is the woman who sits in her Ford Mustang convertible with the top down and the car running. I think she had the a/c on but can someone really be that stupid? Okay, yes, I know. I’ve been tempted to ask her what the hell she was doing sitting there with the car running (I haven’t even touched on how much gas that thing must eat just sitting there) but I know the attitude in my voice would probably result in being punched in the face so I refrain.
People! Come on. Now, I can’t judge others too harshly for driving less-than-efficient vehicles because I’m a big offender in that department. Yes, I currently command an SUV about town. In my defense, I only fill up once every two weeks and average maybe 7-8k miles a year. Even still, we’re going to be letting go of the beast for something a bit more economical that can still fit the five of us. Jeff let go of his truck for a small compact and if we had only four of us, I’d do the same.
But on with my rant. Gas guzzling aside, do these people live under a rock? How can they not know or understand how completely awful that is for our atmosphere? 70 degrees! Blue skies! Perfect breeze! I just don’t get it. Everything is going to hell in a hand basket and people just don’t give a shit. Global warming is not a myth; no arguments are left as to whether this exists–it does.
Idling. 70 degrees. Air conditioner running. Shoot me now.
